Sometimes you just need to experience something to really convey how special something is. That is the case with Monte Rei.
Located a short drive from the Spanish border and away from the coast, Monte Rei has more holes that will take your breath away than not. It is not a manicured paradise, that's not to say that the course isn't in fantastic condition, but this is a truly great test of golf accompanied by a fantastic level of service and spectacular views.
The best piece of advice with courses like this is to arrive an hour or 2 early and really soak it in. Use the fantastic driving range, short game area & putting green. Have a coffee or beer on the balcony surveying the beautiful yet unforgiving landscape you are about to tackle.
As with most golf courses in Portugal, you will be treated well, but there is an extra special level of service they provide that leaves you feeling valued.
It's not cheap, in fact, it's right up there in terms of price, but there isn't an experience like it and therefore, we recommend it to any serious golfer.
